- Alexander Calder was known for his kinetic mobiles and stationary "stabiles". This artwork translates those three-dimensional sculptural concepts into a graphic, two-dimensional form. It is characterized by strong black outlines, solid blocks of primary colors, and sharp geometric shapes.
- This 1969 Calder color lithograph is in excellent vintage condition. While the paper shows minor, expected signs of age and wear, the overall integrity of the print remains superb, with vibrant primary colors and sharp black lines. It has been professionally upgraded with a high-quality new frame and matting, offering a sophisticated presentation suitable for any collection.

About the Artist: Alexander Calder (1898–1976)
Alexander Calder was a titan of 20th-century modernism and one of the most influential American artists of all time. Born into a family of sculptors, he revolutionized the medium by introducing movement, famously described by Marcel Duchamp as "mobiles."
While best known for his massive public "stabiles" and delicate hanging sculptures, Calder was a prolific master of the lithographic medium. His graphic works, like his sculptures, are defined by:
- Primary Color Palette: A signature use of bold reds, yellows, and blues.
- Dynamic Geometry: Balancing organic, "biomorphic" shapes with sharp, industrial lines.
- Whimsical Energy: Transforming complex physical concepts into playful, accessible compositions.
His work is held in the permanent collections of nearly every major institution worldwide, including the MoMA (New York), Tate Modern (London), and the Centre Pompidou (Paris). Collecting Calder lithographs—specifically those from his collaborations with Galerie Maeght and Derrière le Miroir—remains a popular entry point for serious collectors looking to own a piece of mid-century art history.
