Daniel Dallmann  (1942) is an American Postwar & Contemporary artist born in Minnesota in 1942. He is recognized as a leading figurative and representational artist, working primarily as a painter and printmaker, notably skilled in mezzotint, etching, and lithography.
Key biographical points:
Education: Dallmann earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota (1965), and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa (1969).
Career & Teaching: He began exhibiting his work in the early 1970s and has held numerous solo exhibitions in prominent galleries across the US and Europe. He also served as an educator, teaching printmaking at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University for 43 years, where he is now Professor Emeritus.
Artistic Philosophy: Dallmann's work, though often considered realist, focuses on the relationship between reality and artistic expression, exploring content during the creative process rather than starting with fixed intentions.
