"An Elephant for Kris" is a lithograph by the Bolivian artist Graciela Rodo Boulanger. The piece, which features a stylized elephant holding a child on a striped ball, is a characteristic example of her work. 

About the Artist
Graciela Rodo Boulanger, born in La Paz, Bolivia, in 1935, is a painter, engraver, and sculptor. She is widely known for her whimsical and stylized depictions of children, which often feature rounded figures and a cheerful, youthful spirit. Boulanger's work has been featured in over 200 exhibitions across five continents. In 1979, UNICEF designated her as the official artist for the International Year of the Child poster, and two of her tapestries were displayed in the public hall of the UN General Assembly. Her art has also been commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera of New York and chosen for a special issue of stamps by the World Federation of the UN Associations.
