Guido Borelli is a renowned contemporary Italian painter celebrated for his romantic, light-filled landscapes and Mediterranean scenes. Born in Caluso, Italy, Borelli began painting at age four and received formal training at the prestigious Accademia Albertina in Turin, holding his first exhibition at 17.
Style and Inspiration
Blending Italian Realism with Impressionistic lighting, Borelli captures a "memory of a scene" rather than painting directly from life, a technique that creates a nostalgic, peaceful atmosphere. His work is influenced by early 20th-century masters. Inspired by the movement of shadows, Guido's oil paintings reflect nature as their focal point depicting Italian landscapes, homes and villas of Northern Italy and the Alps. His paintings are a wonderful combination of traditional styles and yet feel very contemporary, very today. They are infused with a Romantic light, rich with Impressionist brushwork and color sensibility. These paintings must be seen, must be experienced, and must be appreciated.
