About the Artist: Guido Borelli (Italian, b. 1952)
Guido Borelli is a world-renowned contemporary Italian master, celebrated for his lyrical landscapes, sun-drenched Tuscan villas, and romantic coastal scenes. Born in Caluso, Italy, at the foothills of the Alps, Borelli’s artistic journey began at age four. He held his first personal exhibition at just 17 and received his formal training at the prestigious Accademia Albertina in Turin.
Artistic Style & Technique
Borelli’s work is a masterful blend of traditional Italian Realism and Impressionist sensibility. Influenced by early 20th-century masters like Boldini and De Nittis, he is known for his "movement of shadows" and vibrant use of light. Uniquely, Borelli does not paint directly from life; instead, he transforms his observations into a personal visual language, painting from the "selective memory" of a scene.
Notable Collectors & Global Reach
His artwork is held in significant public and private collections worldwide. Notable private collectors of Borelli’s work include:
  • President Jimmy Carter
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Jack Nicholson
  • Kevin Costner
Borelli’s paintings have been exhibited in major cities globally, from New York and London to Tokyo and Paris. Today, he is widely regarded as one of the top living Italian artists, with his works continuing to be highly sought after by serious art collectors.
