Jacques Lalande (1921-2003)
 
Jacques Lalande, born at Chateaurenard in Provence, in the south of France, in 1921, studied at the Beaux Arts of Montpellier and then, in 1946 and 1947, at Beaux Arts in Paris and the Atelier Souverbie.
His versatile career has included theatrical designs, ceramics, dress designs, as well as paintings. It was not until 1960, that he decided to concentrate mainly on graphics. Jacques Lalande is famous for his "children" - endearing figures he has immortalized in a series of exquisitely expressive masterworks that enchant and delight with a sublime glow of Impressionist charm! Lalande's boys and girls exude a doe-eyed innocence that melts the hearts of thousands of ardent fans, making Lalande one of the most popular and beloved Artists in this genre!
