This is a tribute to the legacy of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era.Robinson broke the color barrier when he debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. His entry into the MLB was a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. The number 42, visible in the image, was his jersey number, which has been retired across all of Major League Baseball. The print commemorates the 50th anniversary of this historic moment, which occurred in 1997.
