ABOUT THE ARTIST
Barry Leighton-Jones was born in London in 1932. He is a descendant of Victorian artist Lord Frederic Leighton. He demonstrated early artistic talent and received academic training at Sidcup School of Art and Brighton College. Career
Leighton-Jones achieved early success in the British art scene with paintings and prints. His work often features realistic figures against impressionistic backgrounds and depicts English life. He moved to America in 1980. A notable commission in 1985 led to a series on clowns, and he served as the official artist for the Emmett Kelly Estate. He also created other series and portraits of notable figures. His works are found in collections globally. Later life and death
He lived in various US locations before returning to Britain due to health issues. He continued painting until his death on November 20, 2011.
