Originally published as a fund raiser for the Michael Jordan Foundation, later renamed the James Jordan Foundation to honor Michael's late father. The foundation is dedicated to encouraging children and youth "who have been sidelined by life" to reach their goals. Nationally, the foundation awards more than 40 grants per year to various charitable organizations.

LeRoy Neiman (1921–2012) was an American artist celebrated for his vividly colored, dynamic depictions of sports and leisure activities. 
 
Style and Subject Matter: Neiman was best known for his energetic and vibrant portrayals of sporting events, including boxing, golf, football, and basketball, as well as scenes of leisure activities. His work is characterized by its bold colors and dynamic compositions. 
 
Legacy and Philanthropy: In 1986, Neiman and his wife established the LeRoy Neiman Foundation to support arts education. This
foundation led to the creation of centers like the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University and the LeRoy Neiman Center for Study of American Culture and Society at UCLA, as well as scholarships.
