ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Marina Raiskin work is characterized by a blend of classical art influences, especially from Gustav Klimt, fashion design elements, and Eastern cultural motifs. Marina Raiskin was born in Kazakhstan and later immigrated to Israel, where she works in Tel Aviv. She often features female figures in richly colored paintings with detailed textures and graphic, geometric patterns, reflecting her background in textile and fashion design.
Marina Raiskin was born in 1973 in Almaty, then the capital city of Kazakhstan. From 1990 until 1995 she studied drawing and graphics at Almaty State University. Upon completing her studies, she pursued a combined professional life that integrated drawing and design together with yoga. To that end, she embarked in a journey of investigation and study of this discipline, especially the spiritual philosophical facet that originates in Hindu thought.
Later, Marina became involved with fashion design, particularly textile. This combination turned into the basis of the art that Marina has pursued in the last few years: classical art, influenced by the renowned classical artist Gustav Klimt, with an emphasis on textures, graphic shapes, color, and different materials. Influences from the Eastern culture are also visible, especially in the choice of colors and textures. It is possible that Marina's country of birth, Kazakhstan, which borders with China and other Eastern countries, has also influenced her art.
Marina immigrated to Israel with her two children in 2018. Today she resides in Tel Aviv and is completely dedicated to her art. Her works have been exhibited throughout the world and are always well received with encouraging comments and lots of love.
