This vintage original color lithograph was created in 1978 by the listed American artist Raphael Soyer (New York 1899-1987). The iconic image depicts prostitutes "on the stroll" on Eighth Avenue in Manhattan. This lithograph was pulled one color at a time at The American Atelier in New York City. The print was inspected and signed by hand in pencil.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Raphael Soyer (December 25, 1899 – November 4, 1987) was a Russian-born American painter, draftsman, and printmaker. Soyer was referred to as an American scene painter. He is identified as a Social Realist because of his interest in men and women viewed in contemporary settings which included the streets, subways, salons and artists' studios of New York City. His works hang in many museums and collections throughout the world.
