- This images shows a dove of peace flying over Jerusalem. The artist wanted to illustrate the beautiful homecoming of Ethiopian Jewry to Israel from Operation Solomon. Operation Solomon (May 1991): This was a record-breaking, non-stop airlift that took place over a remarkable 36-hour period from May 24-25, 1991. With the backdrop of Ethiopia's civil war and advancing rebel forces, 35 Israeli aircraft, including El Al Boeing 747s stripped of their seats, transported 14,325 Ethiopian Jews directly from Addis Ababa to Israel. One of the 747s set a world record for the most passengers on a single aircraft flight, carrying at least 1,088 people
