Robert Stephen Simon, American artist. Sports Artist of Year United States Sports Academy of Art, 1992; People's Choice 1st prize Broward Art Guild, 1997; 1st Prize Oil Norwood University, 1998; nominated for Distinguished Alumni award Illinois Wesleyan University, 1999; Color Trend award for Distinguished Artwork in Lithography, 1998. 
He was a man who simply loved to paint, right until the very end. There are not many who feel they are at the peak of their game at the latest stage of their career, yet that is exactly what Robert Stephen Simon said on numerous occasions this past spring.
Simon, who suffered a massive heart attack, passed away May 29, 2014. He was 74.
