Steve Romm is an American artist known for his vibrant, often folk-art-inspired paintings, particularly those depicting the landscapes and vistas of the Hamptons.
Early Life & First Exhibition: Romm's artistic journey began in childhood, culminating in his first solo exhibition at the Associated American Artist's gallery in New York City at age 11.
Career in Art & Photography: He taught art and photography and later worked as an artist agent for photographer Harvey Edwards.
Art Publishing Company: In 1983, Romm and his wife Judy established an art publishing company that became a successful international business before being sold in 2004.
Artistic Style: Romm continued to paint and exhibit in the U.S. and Europe. His paintings often depict landscapes and skies with a unique layering technique using glazes, powders, and metallic pigments to create depth and an inner glow.
Focus on the Hamptons: After moving his business to Bridgehampton in 1992, his artwork increasingly focused on the Hamptons.
