  • Wayne Cooper (b. 1942) is an American Postwar & Contemporary painter known for his portrayals of Western and American Indian subjects, stemming from his Yuchi heritage and ranch upbringing in Oklahoma. He received extensive artistic training, including at the American Atelier in New York City. Cooper's diverse body of work includes oils, watercolors, charcoals, pencil drawings, bronze sculptures, and lithographs. His art is featured in numerous private and public collections, notably in the Oklahoma State Capitol, where he was commissioned for several large-scale oil paintings.
